Land Rover Adopts SDRC Metaphase and I-DEAS; Plans in Place for Immediate Implementation Ramp-up; Training Initiated for Users Worldwide

CINCINNATI--Oct. 5, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that Land Rover, the premier manufacturer of world-class four-wheel drive vehicles, is adopting SDRC's Metaphase(R) product knowledge management (PKM) software and SDRC's I-DEAS(R) mechanical design automation (MDA) software for a future vehicle program.
Land Rover has indicated that creating a single-source of information with global accessibility will greatly enhance the usability of information throughout this future vehicle program. The success of SDRC's collaborative automotive solutions has provided confirmation that a cohesive strategy for CAD/CAM, CAE and PIM is necessary to achieve goals for accelerated product development on this target platform.
"For over 50 years, Land Rover has been the world's best-known company in innovative off-road vehicles," said Bill Weyand, chairman and chief executive officer, SDRC. "Land Rover's `go-anywhere, do-anything attitude' is well known. SDRC is excited to join with Land Rover in expanding this promise through the implementation of a robust, collaborative product development strategy supported by our software products and services."
