Delphi Automotive Systems Volunteers to Build Habitat for Humanity HomeBURTON, Mich., Oct. 5 A Genesee County family will soon put out a welcome mat at the front door of their new home, thanks to volunteers from Delphi Automotive Systems , and Habitat for Humanity. Dozens of Delphi employees will gather on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 8 a.m. to build a house for the Boulton family. Upon its completion, the home at 3417 Marion St. will be the 24th home that the Genesee County organization has built with the help of volunteers. The Boulton home will be the first Habitat for Humanity home in the county to be completely accessible to handicapped individuals. The house is also the first to be built in Burton. The family will be on-hand to help with the construction, which will last about 12 hours. "We are very excited about Delphi's involvement in this project. We hope it's the beginning of a very good relationship," said Bob Bellairs, executive director of the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity. "It's our goal to provide a good experience for all of the Delphi volunteers." "Building a home is a team effort, and Delphi employees epitomize teamwork. We want to be a good neighbor in all of our plant communities around the globe," said Cheryl Kilborn, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems' director of public affairs and communications. "By volunteering to help Habitat for Humanity in Genesee County, we're giving back to the community that's important to us."
