Eaton Names Arnold Senior Vice President & Group Executive of Fluid Power Group

    CLEVELAND--Oct. 4, 2000--Eaton Corporation today announced that Craig Arnold has been named Senior Vice President and Group Executive for its Fluid Power Group, effective October 9, 2000. Arnold will be responsible for the company's Aeroquip, aerospace and hydraulics businesses and will report to Alexander M. Cutler, Eaton Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Arnold joins Eaton from General Electric Company where he most recently was Corporate Vice President and President, GE Lighting Services Ltd.

    Arnold started his professional career with General Electric in 1983, initially holding a series of progressively responsible sales, marketing and product management positions. He was named to his most recent position as Corporate Vice President and President of GE Lighting Services Ltd. in 1999, where he was responsible for GE's lighting business in Europe, the Middle East and India. Arnold also had responsibility for all of GE's E-commerce business in Europe for all the company's businesses and served as GE's senior management "account executive" for all GE businesses in the United Kingdom.
    Prior to that, Arnold served as Corporate Vice President and President for GE Plastics, Greater China from 1998 to 1999 and held the same position for GE Appliances, Asia from 1997 to 1998. He was Managing Director, Structured Products Europe for GE Plastics from 1995 to 1997.
    Arnold holds an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and a B.A. from California State University.
