Federal-Mogul's friction products will be sold under Canadian Tire's
private-label, Certified Friction, at their retail locations and Wagner
branded product at the Parts Source stores. The drums and rotors will be sold
under Federal-Mogul's Wagner(R) brand at both locations. Canadian Tire
currently has 44 percent of the "Do it Yourself" market in Canada.
"We are pleased to be able to provide Canadian Tire with our high quality
friction, drum and rotor products," said Bob Egan, vice president, aftermarket
sales, Americas. "It's been said that 85 percent of all Canadians live within
15 miles of a Canadian Tire store. Through this agreement, we can help
Canadian Tire ensure that all of its customers have access to reliable,
quality brake products that will result in improved customer loyalty and brand
awareness."
Federal-Mogul earned the Canadian Tire business because the company offers
a full line of friction and brake products. This full line includes PowerMax
products, which feature an asbestos-free semi-metallic friction material
formulated to deliver outstanding high-temperature performance and reduced
rotor and drum wear; ThermoQuiet LT(R) premium semi-metallic brake pads for
super-quiet performance and unmatched stopping power on light trucks, sport-
utility vehicles and minivans; the new Quickstop(R) product line, engineered
for dependable braking performance that meets OE specifications; and
Guardian(R) brake pads, for reliable performance at an economy price.
