Delphi's INTELLEK(TM) Oil Condition Sensor Technology Wins at SENSORS Expo
INTELLEK(TM) Honored for Positive Environmental Impact
                         And Reduced Oil Consumption

DETROIT, Oct. 4 Delphi Automotive Systems' INTELLEK(TM)
Oil Condition Sensor has been recognized with a "Best of Sensors" award by
Sensors magazine. The award recognizes innovative new products that will have
a strong impact on the sensor industry. The INTELLEK(TM) sensor continuously
monitors various engine oil properties, and alerts the driver to change oil
when needed, rather than at regularly scheduled intervals. The result is a
reduction in oil usage and the subsequent need to dispose of used oil.
"We view this sensor as a win-win product for Delphi, our customers, and
the environment," said Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems President Guy C.
Hachey. "We appreciate recognition from an organization that obviously
understands the importance of intelligent sensors in today's technologically
advanced vehicles. I also want to thank the Delphi team members responsible
for this innovation. Their continued development efforts have made this
product viable for a wide range of vehicle and other industrial applications."
INTELLEK(TM) is one of five technologies selected from 14 finalists by the
editors of Sensors magazine, a leading publication in the sensors industry for
more than 16 years. The oil condition sensor was chosen because, according to
the editors, "it makes economic and ecological sense and has great
implications for industry, beyond the automotive arena." The awards were
presented at the publication's "Sensors Expo 2000," held recently at Detroit's
Cobo Hall.
