Isuzu Announces Best SUV Sales Since October 1999; Core SUV Sales Up 4% Year to DateCERRITOS, Calif., Oct. 3 American Isuzu Motors Inc. (AIMI) today announced its best monthly performance in SUV sales since October 1999. Sales of the Isuzu Trooper, Rodeo, Amigo, and VehiCROSS, net of fleet, topped 8288 units. In addition, year-to-date sales of Isuzu SUVs increased over four percent. The Luxurious Isuzu Trooper, AIMI's premium SUV continues to prove the appeal of true SUV performance, enduring value and classic styling. As of the end of September 2000, Trooper sales for the year compared to last, increased 19 percent. The 2WD Trooper, introduced this year, is generating approximately one-third of Trooper's sales volume. AIMI's best selling SUV, the Isuzu Rodeo, once again demonstrated that it is one of the best values in the four-door compact SUV segment. Year-to-date sales of Rodeo through September approached the record sales volume set in 1999. And Rodeo's little brother, the Isuzu Amigo, achieved an impressive 15 percent increase in year-to-date sales as of the end of September. Sales of the Isuzu VehiCROSS excelled through September, increasing 11 percent year-to-date.
