Kia Sales Continue Steady ClimbIRVINE, Calif., Oct. 3 Kia sold 16,438 vehicles in September, just 16 units behind last month's record total and a 38 percent increase over September 1999. The Sephia compact sedan continued to lead the pack with 5,747 vehicles sold, while the Sportage ran a close second with 5,562 vehicles sold. The Rio subcompact sedan, in its second full month, continued to sell well in September, totaling 2,903 units. Kia's overall sales through September -- 119,727 vehicles -- are 16 percent above last year's sales of the same period. Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
