Nissan Division Reports September Sales Figures; - Sentra and Xterra Maintain Strong Nissan Division Sales Performance -
CARSON, Calif., Oct. 3 Sentra's eighth consecutive month
of increased sales with 13,913 units helped boost the Nissan Division of
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) September sales to 63,352 cars and trucks.
Xterra achieved a September sales record hitting 7,976 units, an increase
of 21.3 percent over last year. Steady Quest sales also contributed to the
division's performance with 3,756 units, an increase of 9.2 percent versus
last year.
"While the current industry trend is a heavier reliance on incentives,
we're lightening our incentive load this year and improving sales at the same
time," said Jed Connelly, senior vice president, sales and marketing of Nissan
North America, Inc.
Combined sales in September for Nissan and Infiniti divisions totaled
71,152 units, a 16.8 percent increase versus last year.
Other sales highlights include:
-- Altima sales of 10,803 units.
-- Maxima sales were 11,835 units.
-- Frontier sales of 9,762 units.
-- Pathfinder sales were 5,303 units.
-- Through September of this year, Nissan Division sales totaled
524,317 units versus 455,232 during the same period last year, up
14.7 percent.
-- Combined Nissan and Infiniti sales for the first nine months of
2000 totaled 587,492 units versus 507,360 for the same time last
year -- an increase of 15.3 percent.
