Forensic Scientist at DaimlerChrysler Receives Top Honor At Women of Color Technology Awards
ATLANTA, Oct. 3 While U.S. athletes were winning medals at
the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, minority women with expertise in
disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering and business were being
honored at the fifth annual Women of Color Technology Awards Ceremony in
Atlanta, Georgia last week. Judy Jordan-Brunson, Product Analysis Senior
Specialist of the DaimlerChrysler Corporation, was recipient of the Chairman's
Award, one of the ceremony's most prominent honors.
Jordan-Brunson was recognized as "an innovator and advocate, pushing
change in organizational approaches as well as in technological solutions to
benefit society as well as the corporate bottom line," according to Tyrone
Taborn, founder of the Women of Color Technology Awards.
An expert in forensic engineering, Jordan-Brunson provides technical
management of product liability lawsuits for DaimlerChrysler. In this
capacity, she is responsible for examining vehicles, researching documents and
preparing and presenting testimony at deposition and trial.
As a member of an exclusive engineering discipline, Jordan-Brunson has a
bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in
mechanical engineering. Since assuming her current position at
DaimlerChrysler two years ago, she has completed courses in various forensic
sciences, including accident reconstruction at Northwestern University, from
which she graduated with honors.
"Judy is one of those rare forensic engineers who is able to resolve
accident mysteries, even when facts are hard to find," said Susan M. Cischke,
DaimlerChrysler Senior Vice President-Regulatory Affairs and Passenger Car
Operations.
The Women of Color Technology Awards was created to celebrate the superior
achievements of minority women. The program is sponsored by U.S. Black
Engineer and Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology magazines.
