U.S. Fuel Cell Council to Have Strong Presence at 2000 Fuel Cell Seminar
WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 The U.S. Fuel Cell Council (USFCC) is
planning to have a strong presence at the 2000 Fuel Cell Seminar being held in
Portland, Oregon on Oct. 30th through Nov. 2. The USFCC is the trade
association for the fuel cell industry, dedicated to fostering the
commercialization of fuel cells in the United States.
The 2000 Fuel Cell Seminar is expected to be the largest gathering ever of
the fuel cell industry. This year's seminar will feature over 200
international authors, and 50 to 80 exhibitors. Attendance is expected to
exceed the 1998 total of 1,160 attendees.
The USFCC will be exhibiting at the seminar (Booth # 219), and will be
sponsoring the Manufacturer's Reception, being held on Tuesday, Oct. 31st.
In addition, the Council will be participating in two poster sessions.
"The 2000 Fuel Cell Seminar will provide a useful measure of the
industry's maturity," said Peter Ciampa, of Delphi Automotive Systems
, and president of the U.S. Fuel Cell Council. "With companies
putting fuel cell products on the market or rapidly preparing for commercial
introduction, the fuel cell industry is poised to transform the way we provide
power for our homes, businesses, consumer electronics, and cars."
"When the Fuel Cell Seminar was held in 1998, the USFCC had just been
established with 14 original member companies. Today, the Council has nearly
60 members including the producers of all major types of fuel cells, as well
as key suppliers and customers," reported Robert Rose, USFCC executive
director. "We look forward to sharing our success story with the conference
delegates."
"The U.S. Fuel Cell Council, which has grown dramatically since its
inception, represents all segments of the fuel cell industry, from Fortune 500
companies to small technology start-ups, as well as university labs and state
government agencies," stated Mr. Ciampa. "The 2000 Fuel Cell Seminar is an
excellent opportunity to show that the fuel cell industry is a growing force
in our nation's economy."
