Audi Reports Best September Sales in Company History

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 3 Audi of America, Inc. today
announced that its September sales of 6,031 mark Audi's best September ever,
with a 2.0 percent increase over the last year's record when sales were 5,912.
These results add up to Audi's best year-to-date ever with a total of 60,276,
a 28.9 percent increase over the same period last year when sales were 46,746.
    Making a significant contribution for the month was Audi's authentic
German sports car, the TT, with 1,092 units sold, up 84.1 percent from
September 1999.  This increase is largely contributed to the addition of the
TT Roadster.
    The A6 posted an increase for the month with 2,388 units sold, up 8.3
percent.  The A4, selling 2,350 units, was slightly down for the month due to
limited availability.
    Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 201, up 29.7
percent from September 1999.  In September, the A8 L accounted for 81.6
percent of all A8 sales.
