Donnelly Hires Binkowski as Director of PurchasingHOLLAND, Mich., Oct. 3 Donnelly Corporation has hired Steven W. Binkowski to be the director of purchasing for its North American Operations, the company announced today. Binkowski brings to Donnelly 12 years of experience in purchasing, launch management and business analysis. Binkowski will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate policies, programs and procedures for Donnelly's global purchasing, materials and distribution activities. Specific responsibilities will include negotiating purchasing contracts, establishing planning and control measures and selecting key suppliers. Binkowski will report to Jeffrey Wincel, vice president of materials. "In this age of continued supplier consolidation, the purchasing function has become more critical than ever before," Wincel said. "Our ability to meet our customer demands in the areas of cost, quality and delivery depends on our ability to get the right materials for the job at the right price and at the right time. Binkowski has spent most of his career at Ford Motor Company. Most recently, he worked as the purchasing program manager for Ford's compact pickup program support. Prior to that, he worked as the purchasing manager responsible for improving supplier relationships while lowering costs and delivering best-in-class customer satisfaction. A native of Olivet, Michigan, Binkowski has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Michigan State University and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
