Superior Industries Wins Aluminum Wheel Contracts Valued in Excess of $60.0 Million Annually
VAN NUYS, Calif.--Oct. 3, 2000--Superior Industries International Inc. today announced that it has been awarded new and replacement aluminum wheel programs from major OEM customers. These contracts represent an estimated total of more than $60.0 million in annual revenue.The contracts include new aluminum wheels for the 2001 Pontiac Aztec and a new Buick model for GM, as well as the 2001 Dodge Intrepid for DaimlerChrysler. In addition, Superior was awarded replacement programs for a number of popular vehicle nameplates.
"Superior Industries continues to expand its relationships with the world's leading automotive manufacturers. Including the new programs for Toyota announced just a few weeks ago, so far this summer Superior has won new business valued at approximately $90.0 million annually. By consistently achieving our customers' design, build quality, delivery and service requirements, we are continuing to increase our share of the growing global market for aluminum road wheels," a company spokesman said.
