Carfax Goes Wireless With DigitalLot From Supersale.com; New Solution Provides Real-Time, Anywhere Access to Billion Record Database

    FAIRFAX, Va.--Oct. 2, 2000--Carfax, Inc., the Internet's leading provider of vehicle history information, has teamed up with Supersale.com, a leader in innovative data collection, management, and distribution tools, to provide wireless vehicle history reporting capabilities to used car dealers.
    This new partnership gives participating dealers instant access to the Carfaxonline.com database even when they are away from the office--during the appraisal process on their lot, or while considering cars at an auction. Carfax subscribers using this new service will simply scan a vehicle's VIN barcode with a built-in scanner and request a report.
    The reports can be viewed directly on the DigitalLot(TM) screen, printed for filing, downloaded by consumers from a dealer's Website, and displayed on the vehicle's window sticker.

    The DigitalLot Solution combines a small, portable touch-screen computer with built-in digital camera and VIN bar-code scanner. The computer connects in real-time to the Internet and uploads inventory descriptions with photographs to automotive retailing Websites including dealers' homepages, Autobytel.com(TM), and CarPoint.com(TM).
    The system is easy to use and includes VIN "explosion," up-to-date pricing information and real-time vehicle Web uploads. Wireless Carfax capabilities are available today as an upgrade to the DigitalLot Solution.
