AutoPlanet Signs Licensing Agreement With MOTOR Information Systems
MINNEAPOLIS--Oct. 2, 2000--AutoPlanet(TM), the intelligent automotive supersite launching this fall at www.autoplanet.com, announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with MOTOR Information Systems to give AutoPlanet users the ability to estimate the cost of auto repairs online. The license agreement permits AutoPlanet to make data derived from the MOTOR Information Systems automotive repair guides available on its site. The guides are used by mechanics and auto repair shops to estimate parts and labor pricing.
"Our license agreement with MOTOR Information Systems allows AutoPlanet to help consumers make more informed decisions about the care of their vehicles," said AutoPlanet founder and CEO Jeff Pester. "Consumers can go to the AutoPlanet website and look up estimated prices for car repairs before bringing their vehicles into the repair shop. This helps put some of the power back into consumer's hands, because they will have a better idea of what a fair price is for repairs."
