Federal-Mogul Announces Divestiture of Koenig

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 2 Federal-Mogul Corporation
today announced it has completed the divestiture of its joint
venture ownership in Koenig, an Austrian manufacturer of pistons and piston
rings.
        Federal-Mogul acquired one-third of Koenig when it purchased T&N plc in
1998.  The corporation agreed to divest of the joint venture interest in 1999
when it purchased the piston division of German-based Alcan Deutschland GmbH.
    The other shareowners of Koenig will purchase Federal-Mogul's interest.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
