Neovation Selects Gionfriddo For President and CEO Position
DENVER--Oct. 2, 2000--Neovation, an innovative, R&D-backed Internet consulting and solutions provider, today announced the appointment of President and Chief Executive Officer James G. Gionfriddo, formerly COO of NIIT USA, a global IT solutions corporation. His experience in leading NIIT's U.S. efforts, as well as former senior executive roles at CSC, Oracle and Coopers and Lybrand, position him to lead Neovation's team in delivering breakthrough strategic, creative, and technology-backed services such as wireless and broadband to a broader base of clients."The opportunity to lead a nimble company with such a strong track record and incredibly talented people is one I had to take," Gionfriddo said. "I talked with Neovation employees, clients and even competitors and ultimately chose to come to Neovation because of its unique emphasis on helping clients evolve their customer experience, and its unparalleled investments in staff development. I felt this was a powerful combination for success."
The president and CEO position Gionfriddo assumes was created when Neovation formed in April 2000. The company evolved from the merger of Chicago-based business consulting and systems integration firm Waterstone Consulting and the Colorado-based digital strategy, creative design and implementation agency Interactive Papyrus.
"We needed a visionary president and CEO with past experience in leading a successful, global player," said Erin Geegan, Neovation founder and chief creative officer. "From day one, Jim impressed the management team at Neovation with his insight, his energy, and most of all his immediate grasp of the potential for Neovation. We knew early on that he was the right person for the job."
At NIIT USA, Gionfriddo directed the growth of the U.S. arm of the $250 million dollar multinational systems integration and learning solutions provider, growing U.S. business more than 90 percent to $52 million in a thirteen-month period.
Poised to produce the same caliber of results for Neovation, Gionfriddo will also draw on the experience gained in his tenure as vice president, Enterprise Solutions at CSC, Inc., where he managed more than 300 professionals, launched their Supply Chain Technology practice and forged alliances with several leading e-business solution firms. His past positions have also included Oracle's southern region senior practice director and eastern area practice director for the communications industry. At Coopers and Lybrand, he was a partner in the manufacturing technology practice as well as the communication industry practice. At PeopleSoft, Jim was vice president, Customer Services--Products Division, where he was instrumental in building global consulting teams, developing and launching rapid implementation methodologies such as PeopleSoft Express and bringing PeopleSoft's middle market sales and services focus, known as PeopleSoft Select, to market.
