SJAPS, NASCAR Touring Staff Additions Announcement

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 29 2000) - One of the most recognized 
promoters in American short track racing, Bob Harmon, along with long time 
NASCAR Touring Media Coordinator, Bill Desmond, have been named to return to 
the Slim Jim All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring promotional and media staff for 
the 2001 racing season.  

    Harmon, who will work closely with current Slim Jim All Pro Series 
director Les Westerfield, will serve as a promotional consultant and advisor 
for the series as well as taking an active role in the coordination and 
promotion of Slim Jim All Pro Series events. 
  
    Desmond, who returned to NASCAR in 2000 after a three year hiatus, as the 
Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Media Coordinator, has worked with Harmon 
in the past and joined NASCAR in 1986.  

    ""Bob Harmon has built an excellent reputation in the motorsports 
business," stated Tom Deery, NASCAR vice-president.  "Bob started his All Pro 
Super Series in 1980 and many of the competitors on our three national series 
have competed with his series at one time or another.  Bill Desmond was an 
integral part of his team and has done a great job for NASCAR through the 
years and he will be a great asset to the series.  Harmon is a great 
inspiration to every participant and we are thrilled to have 'Uncle Bob' back 
with the series that he was so instrumental in developing over 20 years ago."

    Harmon has worked with Dover Downs Entertainment in the operation of the 
Nashville (Tenn.) Speedway USA and he will continue his duties there as well 
as development of the new superspeedway under construction in Nashville.  
Harmon has accepted several honors from Racing Promotion Monthly (RPM) 
including the National Speed Sport News Award which recognizes the promotion 
of an outstanding event (All American 400) and the General Media Award for 
Outstanding Service to the Industry.  

    "I am excited about being able to lend my experience to the Slim Jim All 
Pro Series", commented Harmon.  "It is a series that I have a passion for.  
We have been very successful at Nashville Speedway USA over the past seven 
years and I will continue to be involved with the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series 
at Nashville, working closely with short-track manager Dave Kohler."
  
    The Slim Jim All Pro Series will conclude it's season with two 
consecutive events at the high banked .596-mile speedway before the 2000 Slim 
Jim All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring Awards Banquet in Atlanta, Ga. on November 
18.  The NASCAR All Pro 200 will run on Saturday, September 30 and the 
All-American 400, Sunday, November 5th.

Nine NASCAR Touring Series blanket the United States, bringing special events 
to many NASCAR Weekly Racing Series tracks and some NASCAR superspeedways and 
road courses. NASCAR Touring Series are extremely popular with fans and 
competitors.  NASCAR Touring Series can provide a competitor with an entire 
career, or they can provide valuable experience to competitors moving through
