Poly-Flex Approved as RFID Inlet Manufacturer by Inside Technologies

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, FRANCE & CRANSTON, R.I.--Sept. 29, 2000--Inside Technologies announced today that it has approved Poly-Flex - A Parlex Company to manufacture Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) inlets using its proprietary PicoTag IC technology. Utilized in a wide range of applications, including those that require proximity and long distance communication, the high performance chip conserves energy by operating at minimal power.
The PicoTag device is compliant to the new 13.56MHz standard communication protocol ISO/IEC/15693 that allows an operating range up to 1.5m. PicoTag has a Read/Write EEPROM memory up to 2K bits, a unique 64 bits serial number, smart EAS capability and an optional security mode, which offers a stored value area with reload, cryptographic and authentication capabilities and secure access to memory that can be divided into two compartments.
Using a proprietary adhesive process, Poly-Flex, a world leader in RFID design and production, attaches the PicoTag device onto flexible substrates via a flip-chip interconnection. The flip-chip assembly is an extension of Poly-Flex's proven, high volume, surface mount assembly capability that is specially adapted to handle low cost flexible substrates.
