ArvinMeritor, Inc. Appoints Jim Stegemiller Vice President, Operations, Exhaust Systems; and, Kathaleen Banks Vice President, Continuous ImprovementTROY, Mich., Sept. 29 ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced the following appointments: * Jim Stegemiller to the position of vice president, Operations, Exhaust Systems, effective immediately. He reports directly to Craig Stinson, president of Exhaust Systems. * Kathaleen Banks, who replaces Stegemiller as vice president, Continuous Improvement. Banks reports directly to ArvinMeritor Vice Chairman and President Bill Hunt. Stegemiller will be responsible for all manufacturing operations within the Exhaust Systems business. For the past two years, Stegemiller has served as Arvin's vice president, Worldwide Continuous Improvement, where he was responsible for the continued development and implementation of company-wide best-in-class operating standards programs. Since joining Arvin Industries in 1975 as a production supervisor, Stegemiller has held management positions of increasing responsibility, including vice president and general manager of the GM Business Group, a division of Arvin Exhaust, North America (AENA). A graduate of Purdue University School of Industrial Management, Stegemiller holds a bachelor's degree in business economics and has completed the Indiana University Executive Program. Banks will continue the development and implementation of operating standards across the new ArvinMeritor organization. Banks joined Arvin Industries in 1999 as vice president, Total Quality, Arvin Ride and Motion Control. In that capacity, she was responsible for strategic quality system initiatives and programs that included the integration of supplier quality systems, new product introduction, quality measures, warranty and training. A graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in industrial technology, Banks holds a master's degree in special education from the University of Kansas, as well as a doctorate in vocational education and labor economics from the University of Missouri.
