October is Car Care Month; AAA Michigan, Penske Give Free Inspection to MotoristsDEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 28 October is National Car Care Month and Michigan motorists have the ideal service plan -- a FREE 12-point inspection at more than 60 locations statewide, courtesy of Penske Auto Centers, AAA Michigan and other participating dealers. The AAA 2000 Winter Car Care program is in its 21st year. For the fourth year in a row, Penske Auto Centers, at most Kmart locations statewide, will join AAA Michigan in this partnership to prevent winter driving problems and make roads safer. On Monday, October 2, camera and interview opportunities will be available at the Penske Dearborn location (10 a.m.), 5851 Mercury Drive; at Southfield (2 p.m.), 28800 Telegraph Road; Warren (10 a.m.), 31200 Schoenherr Road and in Detroit at Riverside Ford (10 a.m.), 1833 E. Jefferson Ave. AAA Michigan representatives will be on hand. Throughout the month of October, motorists in the metro Detroit area can visit these and other Penske Auto Centers in Auburn Hills (3500 Joslyn Rd.), Bloomfield Hills (2101 Telegraph Rd.), Clinton Township (34800 Groesbeck), Dearborn (5851 Mercury Drive), Detroit (Riverside Ford, 1833 E. Jefferson Ave.), Farmington (37175 Grand River), Garden City (29600 Ford Rd.), Lincoln Park (3710 Dix Hwy.), Livonia (33400 W. 7 Mile and 30255 Plymouth), Rochester (1100 S. Rochester), Roseville (20891 13 Mile), Southfield (28800 Telegraph Rd.), Sterling Heights (2051 18 Mile), Troy (100 E. Maple), Warren (31200 Schoenherr Rd. and 2000 10 Mile), Waterford (5100 Dixie Hwy.), Westland (165 Wayne) and Woodhaven (19800 West). The inspection is free to all motorists throughout the month. No appointment is necessary.
