Bruewer Named Hella VP for General Motors Sales
    PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 28 James A. Bruewer has been named
vice president, Global GM Sales at Hella North America, Inc., according to Joe
Borruso, president and chief executive officer, Hella North America.
    Bruewer will be responsible for coordinating Hella's global product
efforts for General Motors and managing internal communications regarding
sales efforts with GM worldwide.  He reports to Werner Beneken, executive vice
president responsible for Hella's global sales efforts, and to Joe Borruso
regarding NAFTA activities.
    Previously Meritor Automotive's director of global sales and marketing for
General Motors, Bruewer led an international team focused on global customer
service and sales.  At Meritor, he was responsible for formulating "supplier
of choice" business strategies resulting in significant sales growth with GM
worldwide for Meritor's body and chassis systems products.
    Prior to becoming director of global sales and marketing, Bruewer managed
sales and marketing for Meritor's light-vehicle access control systems,
increasing sales via strategic sales of latches, actuators and immobilizers to
Chrysler, Saturn, Nissan, Ford, Freightliner, Mack and Peterbilt.  Bruewer was
also responsible for North American departmental accounting, customer service
and logistics and several major OEM programs while with Meritor.
    Bruewer holds a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering
from Oakland University and a master's degree in management from Walsh
College.  He resides in Rochester Hills with his wife and two children.
    Hella is a tier one supplier of lighting, electronic equipment, sensors
and complete vehicle front-end modules to the auto industry.  Hella North
America and its parent company, Hella KG Hueck & Company, have 20,000
employees at more than 30 production locations in 16 countries throughout the
world.  Worldwide consolidated sales for Hella during the company's 1998-99
fiscal year grew by more than 14 percent to more than $2.4 billion.
