Goodyear Renews Its Support for the Toys for Tots Program; Retail Stores Will Serve as Drop-Off Points for Donations
AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 27 Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's
retail stores once again are showing their Christmas spirit by sponsoring the
Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
The more than 800 Goodyear-owned retail stores nationwide will serve as
drop-off locations for donations to the annual campaign. In addition,
individual locations will conduct specific Toys for Tots promotions within
their communities.
"The Toys for Tots program has become an integral part of Christmas by
serving as a conduit through which people can help underprivileged children,"
said John Peer, director of Retail Operations. "Last year, many of our store
managers were touched by the public's overwhelming generosity toward this
program. They are thrilled that we are supporting it again this year."
The Toys for Tots program will run from October 1 through December 22.
During that time, Goodyear retail stores will display posters that designate
them as sponsors. In addition, some stores will create their own unique
collection bins out of tires.
The Toys for Tots message also will be displayed in local Goodyear
advertising and on the Goodyear blimps.
"Goodyear retail outlets are easily recognizable and, therefore, ideal
locations for dropping off donations," said Peer. "The Toys for Tots program,
through its association with sponsors like Goodyear, make it simple for all of
us to reach out to needy children during the holidays."
