FordDirect.com to Preview New Direct Sales Venture at eAutoWorld
                    Forrester, Gomez to Unveil New Studies

    RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 27 The leadership of FordDirect.com
will discuss the launch of the pioneering direct sales venture at the
eAutoWorld conference, scheduled for Oct. 3-5 at the San Diego Convention
Center.
    FordDirect.com is an unprecedented Web-based partnership between the
automaker and its more than 4,200 dealers.  Jerry Reynolds, chairman of the
national Ford Dealer council, will join key dealer council members on the
eAutoWorld panel.  James O'Connor, Ford Motor Co. vice president, and
president of the Ford Division, will represent the automaker.  FordDirect.com
is scheduled to launch in California in October.
    Also at eAutoWorld, Forrester Research Inc. and Gomez Advisors Inc. will
introduce new studies charting the future of online automotive commerce.
Forrester takes a look at the prospects for the leading retail models in
automotive eCommerce.  Gomez will discuss a new study of more than 12,000
online car shoppers.
    The eAutoWorld conference, which looks across the entire eCommerce value
chain, will bring together leading suppliers, manufacturers, dealers,
