Yazaki North America Awarded for Excellence in Treasury Management

Yazaki North America, Inc. Awarded for Excellence in Treasury Management
    CANTON, Mich., Sept. 26 Yazaki North America, Inc., a
Michigan based Tier One supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the
automotive industry, announced today that it was named as a Gold Award Winner
for the 2000 Alexander Hamilton Award for Excellence in Treasury Management.
The award was earned as a result of improvements made to Yazaki's 401(k)
retirement plan.  The Award is sponsored by Treasury and Risk Management
magazine.  Tetsuro Suzuki, president and CEO of YNA, made the announcement.
    "This was indeed an honor for YNA," said Suzuki, "for five years Treasury
and Risk Management's Alexander Hamilton Awards have recognized the best
practices in corporate financial management.  YNA has a strong sense of
responsibility toward its associates, and is constantly looking at ways to
improve the working environment.  It is gratifying to be recognized for those
efforts."
    YNA made several key improvements to its employee savings and retirement
plan, including instituting immediate vesting for company contributions,
increasing the frequency of contributions from yearly to monthly, raising the
maximum plan contributions from 10 percent to 15 percent, and increasing
associate investment options.  These and other changes resulted in an overall
plan participation increase of 28 percent.
    Judges considered both quantitative and qualitative measures when looking
at improvements to defined benefit or defined contribution plans, including
changes to administrative structure, investment management structure, asset
allocation, employee investment options, and communication programs.
