Budget and Sears Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Partnership

              Special Sears Car and Truck Rental Offers Extended

    LISLE, Ill., Sept. 26 Budget Rent a Car Corporation, the
world's third largest car and truck rental company, and Sears, Roebuck and
Co., one of the nation's leading retailers, are celebrating the 30th
anniversary of their successful partnership as Sears Car and Truck Rental.
    Budget Rent a Car and Sears, two brand names synonymous with value, joined
forces thirty years ago to establish Sears Car and Truck Rental.  The rental
facility network, comprised of locations at Sears stores as well as most
Budget locations, provides convenient outlets from which customers can rent
Budget cars and trucks.  Budget's exclusive partnership with Sears also
enables customers to use their Sears Card as a form of payment for Sears Car
and Truck Rental services, which are available at more than 1,000 Budget
locations throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.
    "Thirty years ago, the idea of partnering with a brand-name retailer was a
great innovation, and it continues to be so today," stated Sandy Miller,
Budget Group chairman and CEO.  "Our relationship with Sears has added
tremendous value to our customer offerings, through a greater variety of
location as well as payment options."
    To mark the anniversary, Budget is extending a special offer to consumers
for 15% off any Sears car rental (mention BCD code #U043415); 15% off any
Sunday-Wednesday Sears truck rental (mention BCD code U040237); or 10% off any
Sears truck rental any day (mention BCD code #U040238).  Discounts valid
through December 15, 2000 at participating U.S. Sears Car and Truck Rental
locations.  Subject to vehicle and rate availability.  Discount applies to
time and mileage charges only.  Blackout dates apply.  One-day advance
reservation required.  Discounts may not be combined with any other discounted
rate or promotional offer.  Taxes, surcharges, refueling, and optional items
are extra.  Vehicle must be returned to renting location, except where
otherwise permitted.  Local rental and age requirements apply.
