Kaba Benzing, European Leader in Enterprise Data Collection (EDC), Enters US Market by Acquiring AAT, a Leading US Provider of Time and Labor Management Systems

    ZURICH, Switzerland & MIAMI--Sept. 26, 2000-- Kaba Benzing, a supplier of Enterprise Data Collection (EDC) technologies and services, today announced the acquisition of Miami-based Applied Automation Techniques, Inc. (AAT).
    The acquisition provides Kaba Benzing -- already a leading EDC provider in Europe -- with a solid footing in North America to expand its share of the growing EDC market, while strategically supporting the expansion of its partnering programs with SAP.
    With the acquisition of AAT, Kaba Benzing is gaining access to the North American time and labor management market. This acquisition will broaden Kaba Benzing's current European leadership in this quickly growing market segment and provide global support for international customers. Under the leadership of its current management, AAT will operate under the new name, Kaba Benzing America.
    With a customer base of more than 500 companies, Kaba Benzing supplies a line of enterprise-oriented data collection and data processing modules that complement ERP systems. Kaba Benzing is the leading manufacturer of software modules and data terminals for time and labor management. These components assure that data collected throughout an enterprise can be exchanged in standardized formats with ERP systems via certified interfaces.
