EAI Solutions Selected by Siemens Automotive
EAI Visualization Technology to Improve Communication and Collaboration for
                               Tier I Supplier

AMES, Iowa, Sept. 25 Engineering Animation, Inc. today announced that Siemens
Automotive, a tier-one supplier of automotive electrical-electronic systems
and components, will implement EAI's VisView(R) and VisMockUp(R) for
corporate-wide digital mock-up and product development collaboration. EAI
solutions will be used by Siemens Automotive to expand communication and
collaboration capabilities with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and
suppliers, resulting in significant improvements to the collaborative product
process.
"Siemens Automotive selected EAI's technology because it provides a
complete, flexible solution that will significantly improve the exchange of
product development knowledge enterprise-wide," said Bill Macfarlane, Siemens
Automotive Corporation's chief information officer. "This will improve
tooling design by providing access to design data at earlier stages of the
development cycle and will enable design problems to be discovered in a
virtual environment."
Siemens Automotive will use VisView and VisMockUp to enable real-time,
interactive visualization and analysis of electronic 2D and 3D customer data
in a single, visual environment. This expanded access to product and process
data will result in improved quality and time-to-market.
"Tier-one suppliers like Siemens Automotive are seeking visualization
tools that enable faster, more efficient collaboration with major
manufacturers," said Eric Wines, North American Product Design Development
coordinator at Siemens Automotive. "EAI solutions will enable Siemens
Automotive to access mission-critical product and process data and interact
with OEM customers and suppliers in real-time, translating directly into
quality improvements, cost reductions and improved product cycle times."
Said Stephen Bashada, EAI vice president of Open Enterprise
Visualization(TM), "We are pleased with Siemens Automotive's decision to
implement EAI technology and look forward to continuing to provide a
competitive advantage through our industry-leading visualization solutions."
