Thousands of Central Florida Residents Will Drive Cars And Raise Money for The Make-A-Wish Foundation
General Motors Will Donate $1 for Every GM Vehicle Driven During
Auto Show in Motion at EPCOT Center, September 22-25

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 22 In its third year, General Motors'
Auto Show in Motion will again put consumers behind the wheel of GM's hottest
products, but with a new twist: Each consumer's test drive will help raise
money to make a child's wish come true.
General Motors will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every
GM car and truck driven at EPCOT Center's Imagine parking lot, Sept. 22-25.
To date, nearly $100,000 was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through
three previous ASIM locations throughout the western United States.
An invitation-only event, General Motors' Auto Show in Motion offers
non-GM owners the opportunity to compare GM vehicles to competitors' products
in a festival-like environment -- without sales pressure. Occupying more than
one million square feet, Auto Show in Motion allows consumers to view new
vehicles and test drive 45 GM and 24 competitor cars and trucks on test tracks
simulating real-world driving conditions.
"Auto Show in Motion is an outstanding opportunity for consumers with
little or no experience with a GM product to compare the quality, styling,
features, benefits and prices of our vehicles against the competition," said
John G. Middlebrook, vice president and general manager, vehicle brand
marketing, General Motors Corporation. "Based on last year's response, we are
confident that Auto Show in Motion participants will be delighted with our
products and add GM cars and trucks to their consideration list."
GM's Auto Show in Motion uses five test tracks specially designed for each
product segment, which include "full-size and luxury," "small and sporty,"
"compact and mid-size," "sport utilities" and "pickups and minivans." In
addition to the test tracks, a 60,000-square-foot tent -- larger than two
football fields -- houses a display of more than 30 GM vehicles, as well as
computer-based vehicle comparison systems providing visitors with information
such as features, benefits and prices on all GM vehicles and their
competitors. Additional displays include concept cars, engine and
transmission, environmental, technological and safety exhibits.
"Auto Show in Motion was created to allow consumers to touch, feel and
drive our brands and compare them against the competition," stated Mr.
Middlebrook. "And this year we are extremely excited that Auto Show in Motion
will continue as a charitable endeavor, allowing consumers the opportunity to
help us make children's wishes come true by supporting the Make-A-Wish
Foundation."
Orlando is the last of five cities hosting GM's Auto Show in Motion.
Previously, Auto Show in Motion was at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway,
March 16-19, Phoenix's Desert Sky Pavilion, March 30-April 2, Hollywood Park
in Los Angeles, April 13-16 and Oakland's Alameda Point, May 4-7.
