Fuel Cell Industry Has a Strong VoiceWASHINGTON, Sept. 21 The U.S. Fuel Cell Council (USFCC), the trade association for the fuel cell industry, added 13 new members to its roster today (Thursday). The Council includes virtually all the major developers of fuel cell technology, key industry suppliers, and potential customers. At its Fall Board of Directors Meeting, held today in Washington, D.C., the Council's Board approved its latest members, and reviewed its broad education and outreach efforts. "In the U.S. Fuel Cell Council, our industry has a strong trade association in our nation's capitol with well over 50 member companies," said Peter Ciampa of Delphi Automotive Systems, president of the USFCC Board of Directors. "The Council brings together corporate giants, small technology start-ups, research institutions, and governmental agencies around one common desire, to get fuel cells into the marketplace quickly and smoothly." The newest members of the USFCC approved by the Board of Directors are: Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited of Victoria, Australia; CSA International of Cleveland, Ohio; Degussa Metals Catalysts Cerdec Corporation of Auburn Hills, Michigan; Donaldson Company, Inc., of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Energy Conversion Devices, Inc., of Troy, Michigan; Hydrogen Burner Technology, Inc., of Long Beach, California; IMPCO Technologies, Inc., of Irvine, California; Johnson Matthey, Inc., of Wayne, Pennsylvania; McDermott Technology, Inc., of Alliance, Ohio; Reliant Energy Entex of Houston, Texas; Syntroleum Corporation of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Thomas Industries of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and ZeTek Power Corporation of New York, New York. USFCC Executive Director Robert Rose reviewed the Council's progress this year, including: * significant contributions to state, national and international fuel cell codes and standards setting activities; * the publication of the Council's first Media Guide; * startup of the Fuel Cell Connection, a free monthly electronic newsletter sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory; * the success of the Council's Internet site -- http://www.usfcc.com -- which has received more than 1.1 million hits over the past 12 months; and * publication of the Second Edition of the Fuel Cell Glossary.
