Collins & Aikman Announces Key Human Resources Appointments
TROY, Mich.--Sept. 21, 2000--Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointments of Joyce H. Jackson to Director, Staffing and Organizational Development; David McMaster to Director, Compensation and Benefits; William C. Ott to Senior Director, Labor Relations and D. William Waters, Jr., to Senior Director, Human Resources for the Company's Automotive Carpet & Acoustics Group.In making the announcements, Greg L. Tinnell, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, noted, "Jackson, McMaster, Ott and Waters are recognized human resources experts in their respective areas. Their leadership skills will certainly enable us to continue recruiting highly skilled associates for Collins & Aikman."
All appointments are effective immediately. Jackson and Ott will be located in the Company's Global Headquarters in Troy, Mich., McMaster will be located in the Company's Customer Support Center located in Charlotte, N.C., and Waters will be located at the Company's Albemarle, N.C., facility.
Prior to joining Collins & Aikman, Jackson was Director of Human Resources for Textron Automotive Company where she was responsible for the effective management and direction for the Company's Human Resources activities. Jackson brings more than 20 years of human resources related experience to Collins & Aikman. She earned a bachelor's of art degree in human resources from Oakland University and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program from the American International Management School.
McMaster joins Collins & Aikman from Lear Corporation where he was Manager, Expatriate and Canadian Retirement Program for the Company where he was responsible for the facilitation of their global assignment program. Prior to Lear, McMaster was Manager, Compensation for United Technologies. McMaster holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition to his 10 years of human resource experience, McMaster is also fluent in French and is studying Spanish.
William C. Ott has been promoted to the position of Sr. Director, Labor Relations. Ott has been with Collins & Aikman since 1987 and was Director, Human Resources-Northern Operations. Prior to joining Collins & Aikman, Ott was with the Director of Human Resources for Lear Corporation. He holds a bachelor's of business administration from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.
D. William Waters, Jr., named Senior Director of Human Resources for the Automotive Carpet and Acoustics Group. Prior to this assignment, Waters was Director of Human Resources for the Automotive Fabrics Division in Roxboro, N.C. As director, Waters will be responsible for the group's personnel and industrial relations activities and will help implement efficient human resources practices and processes reporting to Millard King, Chief Operations Officer. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina.
