Renault Selects CrossWorlds as Integration Platform for New E-Commerce Initiative
BURLINGAME, Calif.--Sept. 20, 2000--CrossWorlds Software, Inc. , an e-business integration platform provider, announced today that Renault has chosen CrossWorlds as its integration platform for its e-commerce information and Web transaction site. Annually producing more than 2 million automobiles worldwide, Renault's objective is to further expand its sales through this online channel. As a key component of this effort, the CrossWorlds platform will enable Renault to leverage existing sales and administrative framework to support the effort of selling cars online.
Renault will use CrossWorlds to integrate its various legacy systems for sales and car dealer information with its packaged applications. Renault has purchased CrossWorlds' Connectors for BroadVision, Oracle Database, Siebel, XML and file management, and will also implement CrossWorlds' Customer Manager and design tool set and IBM's MQSeries Integrator(1). The fully integrated system will permit the seamless flow of data between the existing company infrastructure and the new website.
"After careful consideration, we chose CrossWorlds' solution because its comprehensive business process support, pre-built connectivity and speed of deployment will enable Renault to maximize existing applications and take full advantage of the growing online automobile market quickly and easily," said Omer Zinsou, technical architecture leader for Renault's e-commerce project. "CrossWorlds' solution will allow Renault's systems to be integrated behind the new Web site and provide customers with a more efficient and responsive online experience."
"Our agreement with Renault, one of the world's leading automakers, demonstrates the ability of our e-business integration platform to help Global 1000 companies better leverage the Internet," said Fred Amoroso, president and chief executive officer of CrossWorlds Software. "By working with CrossWorlds, Renault will be able to move faster with its e-commerce initiatives without losing the information and systems it has built over the years."
