iMotors.com Announces New Vice President of Systems Development; Company Continues to Line Up Top Tier Technology Team

SAN FRANCISCO--Sept. 20, 2000--iMotors.com, the first online used car retailer, announced today that Edward Boyle has been named Vice President of Systems Development for the San Francisco-based company. At iMotors, Boyle will oversee the development of core business systems including the web site, order management, and procurement, as well as overall systems and database architecture.
Before joining iMotors, Boyle was Vice President of Designs Platforms Group at Autodesk, leading a worldwide team of 250 Software Development and Marketing specialists for the AutoCAD product line. At Autodesk, Boyle led the effort to migrate AutoCAD from a desktop product to a collaborative Internet-based system. Over the course of his tenure, Boyle streamlined processes and cycles, reducing release times between product updates from 24 months to just three month intervals.
Prior to Autodesk, Boyle served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Utility Partners, a Tampa, FL-based software and systems integration company. He has also held senior management positions with Intergraph Corporation, an international hardware and software company, and the British Steel Corporation. Boyle holds both a PhD and BSc in Civil Engineering from the Queens University of Belfast.
"Ed brings to iMotors a deep knowledge of technology and a clear ability to grow and lead a world-class team," said Beth VanStory, President of iMotors.com. "At iMotors, we rely heavily on technology to develop and implement constant enhancements to improve our customer's experience. Ed's proven leadership and results-oriented approach made him the natural choice to spearhead our technology efforts across the enterprise."

Here's how iMotors works:

-- A customer selects a 1-5 year-old vehicle and places their order with $250 fully refundable deposit via the web site, www.imotors.com, or by calling 1-888-IMOTORS (466-8677).
-- iMotors' nationwide network of experienced buyers finds and buys the vehicle that meets the customer's specifications and iMotors' high quality standards through its network of off-lease and wholesale suppliers.
-- iMotors transports the vehicle to one of its state-of-the-art Vehicle Certification Centers where ASE and I-CAR certified technicians, test, inspect and certify the vehicle. iMotors makes needed repairs, replaces parts, and performs preventative maintenance bringing the vehicle back up to like-new standards both mechanically and cosmetically.
-- iMotors delivers the car to the customer at the nearest, licensed iMotors Delivery Center. The customer reviews the vehicle, takes a test drive and signs all remaining paperwork. iMotors backs every vehicle with a 3-month/3,000-mile comprehensive warranty, a 7-day/700-mile money-back guarantee, and an AutoBiography(SM), detailing the vehicle's title history, iMotors inspection details, and all work (parts and labor) performed by iMotors.
