Nissan Executives Named Among Leading Women in Automotive IndustryTORRANCE, Calif., Sept. 19 Two of Nissan North America's highest ranking female executives have been named as part of an elite list of 100 Leading Women in the North American automotive industry. Debra Sanchez-Fair, vice president, corporate communications, Nissan North America, Inc. and Diane Allen, Chief Designer, Nissan Design International, Inc. were honored last night at a dinner held in Dearborn, hosted by Automotive News. The automotive industry's premiere publication, Automotive News compiled the list of industry achievers. As vice president of corporate communications for Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), Sanchez-Fair oversees a staff of 23 and is responsible for all corporate communications activities for Nissan's North American operations. Sanchez-Fair, who has held a number of positions in her ten-year tenure at NNA, also serves on its North American Management Board. A sixteen-year veteran of Nissan Design International (NDI), Diane Allen is chief designer for Red Studio, one of NDI's two exterior design studios. She is responsible for managing studio operations and design, as well as the development of vehicle programs. The 100 women were selected from several hundred applications following a long process of nominations and judging. A selection committee of six experts honed the final list to 100 executives. In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
