DaimlerChrysler Statement Praising D.C. Safe Kids Coalition For Adding Permanent Fitting Station
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 19 DaimlerChrysler
congratulates the District of Columbia SAFE KIDS Coalition for adding a
permanent child safety seat fitting station to the D.C. area. Everyday eight
of ten children in the D.C. area and around the country are riding in child
safety seats that are not correctly buckled in.
Through Fit for a Kid, DaimlerChrysler's free child safety seat inspection
service, there are 17 permanent locations in the D.C. metropolitan area where
parents can turn for help with child safety seat installation. This new
fitting station means more children will be protected and more lives will be
saved.
DaimlerChrysler's Fit for a Kid service is a free, child safety seat
inspection service at participating Five Star Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge
dealers. Fit for a Kid is available to everyone, regardless of the make or
model vehicle they drive. The service is offered in cooperation with Fisher-
Price and the National Safety Council. In June, the National Transportation
Safety Board honored DaimlerChrysler with its award for outstanding
achievement in safety for establishing Fit for a Kid.
Today, there are more than 600 Fit for a Kid dealers providing this
lifesaving service in the United States. The full-time service is by
appointment to meet the demanding schedules of today's caregivers. To locate
