Three Mitsubishi Motors Women Executives Honored by Automotive News
           Executives Included on List of '100 Leading Women in The
                     North American Automotive Industry'

    CYPRESS, Calif., Sept. 18 Three Mitsubishi Motors
executives have been named to the elite list of 100 leading women in the North
American auto industry compiled by Automotive News, the automotive industry's
premiere publication.
    The honorees include Ellen Gleberman and Frances Oda of Mitsubishi Motor
Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA) and Sandra Gillespie of Mitsubishi Motor
Manufacturing of America, Inc. (MMMA).
    Ellen Gleberman, senior vice president, legal, government relations and
public affairs joined the company in 1989 and is a member of the company's
Board of Directors.  As general counsel for MMSA, she oversees the legal
activities of the company and serves as its Corporate Secretary.  Gleberman is
also senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Mitsubishi Motors
America, Inc., Washington, D.C. office, where she is responsible for the
coordination of government and public affairs issues among Mitsubishi Motors
Corporation's U.S. companies.
    Frances Oda joined MMSA in 1985 as manager of advertising.  She was then
promoted to director of marketing services, and later promoted to vice
president of marketing services.  She currently holds the position of vice
president of sales operations and is responsible for managing the company's
sales operations and planning, including distribution, logistics, fleet and
remarketing.
    Sandra Gillespie began her career with MMMA in 1989 as a staff coordinator
in production control.  She quickly rose through the ranks and in 1999 was
named general manager, production control.  Gillespie is responsible for
MMMA's production planning, materials handling, service parts, scheduling and
parts coordination.  She supervises 270 people and manages an annual budget of
$80 million.
    The 100 women were selected following a long process of nominations and
judging.  Several hundred nominations were received via solicitations on the
automotivenews.com web site and through stories in Automotive News.  A
selection committee of six experts honed the final list to 100 executives.
    Represented on the final list, which will be published in a special issue
of Automotive News on September 11, are 57 women from automakers, 27 from
suppliers, four from industry associations, three from online buying services,
three from advertising and six from other miscellaneous industry companies.
    Automotive News Publisher Keith Crain will recognize the winners on
September 19 at an industry dinner at The Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, MI.  A
portion of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation.
