SDRC Launches e-Business Portal; SDRC Announces SDRC4me, Its e-Business Portal for e-Commerce and e-Services

    CINCINNATI--Sept. 18, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced SDRC4me, its customer relationship management portal allowing interaction, collaboration, and transaction of business with customers, partners, and prospective customers over the Internet.
    "SDRC4me goes beyond standard B2B e-commerce applications," said Glenn Wienkoop, president and chief operating officer, SDRC. "SDRC4me leverages the latest Internet and e-business integration technologies to provide a more encompassing level of e-business that will enable our customers to integrate innovative collaborative solutions as part of their strategic product development efforts. We see the value to our customers and prospects as timely, ease-of-access to SDRC products and services that translates directly into cost reductions and accelerated project schedules."
    SDRC is implementing a phased approach with SDRC4me. This first release enables personalized and secure interaction directly with SDRC via the Internet for:

-- Electronic commerce for quote generation and purchase of all SDRC products by registered customers;
-- Product demonstrations, promotions, surveys, and downloads;
-- Full product catalog browsing and purchasing of selected product sets for new customers;
-- Electronic distribution of a select set of product offerings;
-- Online product support and service;
-- Online enterprise software license management, including software license registration, security code generation and software license transfers;
-- Personalized reports, including software license configuration reports, maintenance reports, and order status reports;
-- Electronic signature of online contracts; and,
-- Multiple payment options, including credit card, electronic purchase order or traditional purchase order with support for multiple foreign currencies.

    "It's a very nice resource, " said Tony Thompson, Sr. System Administrator of Lexmark International, a company that has been testing SDRC4me. "We are able to do things like generating passwords and pricing quickly and easily. This allows us to look up what it would cost to buy additional software and get pricing and maintenance information immediately without having to wait for someone to call us back. The system has intelligence built right in, including all of the terms of our agreements with SDRC, so that it is customized to our needs."
    As SDRC4me evolves, additional capabilities will include expanded access to related partner business systems, such as electronic product distribution, hosted engineering applications, online training, engineering solutions knowledge repository, enhanced product support capabilities, engineering chat rooms, and much more. Customer registration and purchasing will begin with North American based customers during this initial roll out, expanding geographically in the near future.
    SDRC4me has been built using SDRC Accelis(TM), the company's e-Business Integration (e-BI) software solution. Accelis is used to integrate the various resource systems to provide each customer with a personal view, or portal, for their respective strategic product development efforts.
    "SDRC4me is the first step in creating a single customer portal, providing our customers access to the tools needed to work with SDRC during the entire product life cycle," said Bill Carrelli, vice president corporate marketing and business development, SDRC. "Additionally, developing on the SDRC Accelis platform has enabled us to deliver a solution, integrating various business applications, much faster than development on legacy platforms. We have been testing this system with some key customers for some time now, and the response has been tremendous."
    SDRC4me is accessible immediately via the home page of SDRC's newly redesigned website, which includes improved graphics, navigation, and text, at www.sdrc.com.
