Nissan and Local Area Nissan Retailers Join Forces to Support The Leukemia and Lymphoma SocietyHAMPTON, Va., Sept. 15 This Sunday, Nissan North America's Mid-Atlantic Region and local Norfolk area Nissan retailers, in conjunction with Busch Gardens Williamsburg, will sponsor the 4th Annual Patient Day at Busch Gardens in support of Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Month. Through the generosity of Nissan North America, Inc. and its local retailers, children affected by Leukemia, Lymphoma or Hodgkin's disease and their family members will have a free fun-filled day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. In addition, local Nissan retailers will once again present a sizeable contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Virginia Chapter, to help fund patient services, research and educational efforts of the Society. This is the fourth year that Nissan and its local area Norfolk retailers have participated in Patient Day. "Leukemia kills more children ages 2-14 in the United States than any other disease. We are delighted that we can lend our support to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the crucial work they do in fighting this devastating illness," said Gary Frigo, Regional Vice President, Nissan North America, Inc. Leukemia is curable only through time consuming and expensive treatments, including chemotherapy, bone marrow and/or stem cell transplants. Because of the strain this disease puts on the patient and their family, Patient Day is the only vacation most will have this year. In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
