Tube Prices Continue to Rebound
CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 15 Due to increased manufacturing
costs associated with high demand, The Timken Company today
announced a price increase on steel tubing products. Double thermal-treated
tubing will increase in price by 4 percent while single-treated tubing will
increase by 2 percent. The increase is effective with new orders placed after
September 15 and orders scheduled after November 30, 2000.

"We expect to see continued strong demand for steel tubing, especially in
oil country applications," said Robert N. Keeler, director - steel sales -
North America and South America. "This price adjustment effectively balances
the increased costs associated with managing that demand."
