Delphi Announces Manufacturing Appointments
    FLINT, Mich., Sept. 14 Delphi Automotive Systems
is making several appointments in its manufacturing operations, as
announced by Guy C. Hachey, president of Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems.  The
changes are effective Oct. 1.
    Fred C. Brown III, plant manager for Delphi's Grand Rapids, Mich., plant,
is named manager of lean manufacturing systems, succeeding David J. Logozzo,
who was recently named to director of manufacturing operations for Delphi
Automotive Systems.  Brown will also support lean activities for Delphi
Steering.  He will report to Hachey; Paul J. Tosch, president of Delphi
Saginaw Steering Systems; Edward W. Northern, worldwide director of
manufacturing operations for Delphi Energy & Chassis; and D. Scott Mitchell,
general director of manufacturing operations for Delphi Saginaw Steering
Systems.
    Edward T. DiEnno, plant manager for the Coopersville, Mich., plant,
becomes plant manager for the Grand Rapids plant succeeding Brown. He will
report to Charles H. Gifford, Delphi Energy & Chassis manufacturing manager.
Jim Garcia, DMS manager for Delphi Automotive, is named plant manager for the
Coopersville plant, succeeding DiEnno.  Previously, Jim was manager corporate
manufacturing support team at Delphi Automotive Systems in Troy.  He will
report to Gifford.
    Brown joined Delphi in 1985 as a salaried employee-in-training with the
former Rochester Products Division in Rochester, N.Y.  Following assignments
as an associate engineer, project engineer, manufacturing supervisor and
senior industrial engineer, he was named manufacturing general supervisor in
1993 and manufacturing superintendent in 1994.  Brown earned a bachelor's
degree in electrical engineering from Union College and a master's degree in
business administration from Cornell University, which he attended on a
General Motors Fellowship.
    DiEnno joined General Motors in 1973 as a works standards engineer with
the former AC Spark Plug Division in Milwaukee, Wis.  Following assignments as
an industrial engineer, production and maintenance supervisor, general
supervisor, and senior manufacturing engineer in Milwaukee, DiEnno moved to
Grand Rapids in 1984 as assistant superintendent of industrial engineering.
In Grand Rapids, DiEnno served as superintendent of maintenance/plant
engineering and manufacturing engineering and was superintendent of production
beginning in 1990.  DiEnno holds a bachelor of science degree in management
from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
    Garcia joined Delphi earlier this year.  Previously, he worked in
manufacturing and marketing for Interturbine Dallas - TEAM/Pratt & Whitney,
United Technologies Automotive and Propulsion Marketing Alliance of Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla.  He was a plant manager before becoming general manager of
United Technologies' sealants and rubber division.
