Coachmen RV Company Debuts 2001 Lineup in StyleMIDDLEBURY, Ind., Sept. 13 Long recognized as the stylish playground hideaway for celebrities, Palm Springs, California served as the perfect setting for the recent Coachmen Recreational Vehicle Company Dealer Seminar. The unveiling of an innovative 2001 product line by Coachmen RV Company and Shasta Industries sparked the excitement and enthusiasm of dealers and others at the three-day event. "Palm Springs was an ideal destination to launch our 'Star-Studded' 2001 model year products. Our dynamic new model line represents change, vision, innovation and responsiveness to the market with numerous new model offerings, countless product enhancements and some key targeted new product introductions," commented Michael R. Terlep, President of Coachmen RV Company. Among the inventive offerings were an all new Royal "Deluxe" fifth wheel model line positioned to dominate the growing mid-priced fifth wheel market segment through superior design characteristics, features and amenities; the all new Coachmen Catalina Freedom Hauler, a toy toter travel trailer featuring a 7-ft. entrance door for better clearance; the Coachmen Cadet, a hybrid travel trailer with fold-out bunk ends, available in both 21 ft. and 19 ft. floor plans; and the Shasta Flite lightweight towable series, with new longer lengths and a wealth of floor plans. Coachmen also previewed an all-new class A motorhome, available in five different floor plans, including a 27-footer with a double slideout. This inspired offering is designed and priced with the demanding baby boomer in mind. With distinctive styling and sound engineering, this motorhome has beautiful upgraded appointments and a plethora of options. The outside storage system on this coach is unrivaled. Rim sealed, roto-cast compartments team up with stamped, insulated, automotive-style aluminum compartment doors to make accessing this area as easy and as secure as opening and closing a car door. Coachmen will begin production of this new motorhome in October. The all new Royal "Deluxe" fifth wheel features a fully enclosed and heated underbelly, wrapped sidewalls, front and rear fiberglass caps, full aluminum cage construction, a rich interior decor scheme and countless unique and innovative features/amenities. The Royal "Deluxe" fifth wheel will appeal to the mid- to upper mid-level fifth wheel segment that accounts for nearly 20 percent of the fifth wheel market today. Also new for 2001, the Coachmen Cadet signals the return of one of the oldest and most favored names in the company's history. The Cadet offers the look of a travel trailer as it heads down the road. When ready for campground set up, a bunk folds out at both the front and rear of the unit. The Cadet boasts a large, u-shaped dinette, indoor-outdoor range top and 60-in. queen beds that are sure to appeal to travelers. This lightweight product appeals to a wide array of consumers and their tow vehicles. Shasta's Flite series expands the line in 2001 beyond last year's 26-ft. model. The innovative 28-ft. 282FKSL Flite travel trailer features a bright, functional front kitchen area and private and comfy rear bedroom. New floor plans abound for the 2001 Flite series of travel trailers and fifth wheels, providing consumers many possibilities to meet their needs. In addition to providing a stage for the introduction of new products, the Seminar also served as a venue for saluting some of Coachmen RV and Shasta's business partners. A total of 115 dealers were honored for years of service, sales volume and customer service.
