Cummins Inc. - Brooks and Vujovich Recognized by Automotive News

    COLUMBUS, Ind.--Sept. 12, 2000--Cummins Inc. today announced that Martha Brooks, Vice President and General Manager, Truck & Bus Engine Business, and Christine Vujovich, Vice President-Environmental Policy & Product Strategy, were selected by Automotive News as leading women in the North American auto industry. In a special section of the September 11th issue of Automotive News, Brooks and Vujovich were two of the 100 leading women profiled.
    The recognition is presented to women who work at an automaker, auto supplier, auto dealership or in an allied business, who make major decisions and who are influential in her company. The recipients will be honored at a September 19th dinner in Birmingham, Michigan.
    The award winners have over 36 combined years of experience with Cummins. Martha Brooks joined Cummins in 1986. In her current role as Vice President and General Manager-Truck and Bus Engine Business, Brooks is responsible for 3,900 employees. She has seven years of experience in Europe including Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Africa. She also has extensive experience in Asia and Latin America. Brooks has led numerous international negotiations for joint ventures, licenses and long-term supply contracts to completion, including the European Engine Alliance. Brooks led marketing efforts and OEM relationships during the launch of 5 new product lines.
    Brooks earned her MBA and BA from Yale University.
    Christine Vujovich joined Cummins in 1978. In her current role as Vice President-Environmental Policy and Product Strategy, Vujovich is responsible for worldwide environmental strategy and compliance to emission and noise regulations. She has been a leader in the industry in negotiating legislation and rule-making for heavy-duty diesel engines with the Environmental Protection Agency.
    Vujovich earned her MS and BS from the University of Illinois, and completed the Executive Management Program at Yale School of Management.
