FORT WORTH, Texas--Sept. 12, 2000--Valeo, one of the world's largest automotive supply companies with 77,000 employees and $10 billion in annual sales, will officially open its new electronics manufacturing facility at Alliance on September 14 at 11:30 a.m. This is the first greenfield electronics manufacturing facility in the United States for Valeo. Valeo is a global leader in the supply of components, systems and modules to the automotive industry.Andre Navarri, who was named Chairman and CEO of Valeo in May of this year, will travel from the company's headquarters in France to open the facility. Hillwood Chairman Ross Perot Jr. will also be part of the ceremony.
At the new 65,000 square foot facility, Valeo produces circuit boards that, among other functions, allow automobiles to automatically turn on windshield wipers when it rains, trigger warnings to avoid collisions with unseen objects, and allow keyless entry.
Valeo's new facility is one of the most attractive buildings at Alliance, which now houses more than 70 structures. The building features unique architecture and ample windows, which is rare for a manufacturing facility. The design of the building allows it to utilize natural light and remain energy efficient.
The new facility is located at the southeast corner of Interstate 35W and Eagle Parkway in Fort Worth.
