SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 12 BEI Technologies, Inc.
announced that its micromachined GyroChip(R) sensor has been
selected by a major U.S. automotive components supplier for use in their
stability enhancement system. The solid-state quartz GyroChip is manufactured

chairman and chief executive officer of BEI Technologies.
"We are particularly pleased with this agreement that runs through 2007
and represents a long-term relationship with a major U.S. automotive supplier
for BEI's state-of-the-art yaw sensor. We believe the GyroChip sensor was
chosen on the basis of its excellent performance, cost and reliability,"
Crocker continued.
The supply agreement begins with model year 2003 and continues for a five-
year period. The quantity could reach as much as 1.5 million units. "The
capture of this contract strengthens SDID's position as the leading yaw rate
sensor supplier in the growing stability control market," Crocker concluded.
