Southern Automotive Manufacturing Conference Runs September 25-27 In Lexington, KentuckyWARRENDALE, Pa., Sept. 11 Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) will host the third annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Southern Automotive Manufacturing Conference and Exposition (SAMC) on September 25-27, 2000, in Lexington, Ky. Developed specifically for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers in the heart of the highly active Southern automotive corridor, this event brings together more than 1,500 of the industry's top engineers, executives and manufacturing managers, and offers 23 sessions and 80 technical presentations from top manufacturers and suppliers. The conference will open Monday, September 25, 2000, and will feature a keynote address from Gary Convis, Executive Vice President at TMMK in Georgetown. The conference theme is E3 -- Efficiency, Environment and Everyone. "The growth of automotive manufacturers, suppliers and vendors throughout the south is on a rocket pace," said Mike DaPrile, Vice President of Manufacturing at TMMK. "Likewise, the SAE Southern Automotive Manufacturing Conference and Exposition is reflective of that enormous industry momentum." According to Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Gene Strong, "SAMC 2000 is an efficient way to reach a large audience of key decision- makers throughout the auto industry.
