Williams Controls Receives PACCAR Preferred Supplier Award

12 September 2000

Williams Controls Receives PACCAR Preferred Supplier Award
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 11 Williams Controls, Inc.
announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Williams Controls
Industries, Inc., has received the prestigious Preferred Supplier Award from
PACCAR, Inc., the parent company of heavy and medium duty truck manufacturers
Kenworth and Peterbilt. Both Kenworth and Peterbilt are prominent customers
of Williams Controls Industries, based in Portland, Oregon.
In late August, Williams Controls Industries was presented a plaque
signifying that it had met the demanding standards to become a "PACCAR
Preferred Supplier." Williams has been added to the list of global Preferred
Suppliers shown on PACCAR's website (http://www.paccar.com ). The award is in
recognition of Williams Controls' dedication to total quality and ongoing
improvement in all aspects of its global business relationship.
"Williams is extremely proud to receive this honor from PACCAR," stated
Mark Koenen, OEM Sales Manager for Williams Controls Industries. "The award
is particularly timely given that Williams just began shipping electronic
throttle controls, or ETCs, to PACCAR's Kenworth division. Williams is also
shipping electronic throttles to Peterbilt Motors for its new 387 Model heavy
truck. Becoming a Preferred Supplier will enhance Williams' opportunities to
secure more business with PACCAR, which manufactures Kenworth and Peterbilt
trucks in the U.S. and has its DAF, Foden and Leyland truck operations in
Europe."
