DaimlerChrysler Announces Key Executive Appointments In Two North American Units-- Darrell Davis to run Service & Parts for Chrysler Group -- Juergen Walker to run North American arm of debis -- Jim Donlon to be Chrysler Group Controller -- Rainer Schmueckle to head DaimlerChrysler Corporate Controlling & Accounting -- Moves build efficiencies and strengthen operations AUBURN HILLS, Mich. and STUTTGART, Germany, Sept. 11 DaimlerChrysler today announced several executive appointments in an effort to streamline its Service and Parts Operations, further strengthen its North American financial services arm, and improve efficiencies. Darrell L. Davis is appointed to the newly created position of Senior Vice President - Service and Parts reporting to Theodor R. Cunningham, Executive Vice President - DCC Global Sales and Marketing. The appointment of Davis to this position combines Service and Parts operations into a single group, eliminating the position of Vice President - Mopar Parts, a position held by Lawrence W. Baker. Baker has announced his intention to retire at year end and will be on special assignment assisting in the implementation of the new organization until that time. Davis was most recently Senior Vice President of DaimlerChrysler Corporation (DCC) and President & CEO - DaimlerChrysler Financial Services, N.A., LLC. Juergen Walker, formerly Senior Vice President - Controlling Chrysler, will replace Davis as President & CEO - DaimlerChrysler Financial Services, N.A., LLC. Walker will become a member of the Board of DaimlerChrysler Services (debis AG), subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board. He reports to Klaus Mangold, Chairman of the Board of Management DaimlerChrysler Services (debis). Southfield-based DaimlerChrysler Financial Services provides consumer and dealer financing in the United States and Canada primarily through its two principal brands, Chrysler Financial and Mercedes- Benz Credit. James D. Donlon replaces Walker as Senior Vice President - Controlling Chrysler, and will report to Manfred Gentz, Member of the Board of Management - Finance and Controlling. Donlon was most recently Senior Vice President - Corporate Controlling and Accounting, based in Stuttgart, Germany. Rainer Schmueckle replaces Donlon as Senior Vice President - Corporate Controlling and Accounting, and will report to Manfred Gentz. Schmueckle is Chief Financial Officer of Adtranz Group (DaimlerChrysler Rail Systems). He will assume his new position after the transition of Adtranz to Bombardier. Schmueckle has broad experience in different Finance functions and has contributed very successfully to the turn-around of Adtranz.
