RADGUARD and FirstVPN Partner to Implement Secure Managed VPNs for Service Providers and Enterprises of All Sizes

BEDFORD, Mass.--Sept. 11, 2000--RADGUARD, the leading provider of e-business enabling secure VPN solutions, announced today a partnership agreement with FirstVPN, Inc. an international managed security provider that designs, implements, and manages VPNs for service providers and end-users. The agreement enables FirstVPN to offer its customers secure and immediate transmission of mission-critical information over the Internet using RADGUARD's award winning virtual private networking (VPN) system.
Under the partnership agreement, FirstVPN incorporates RADGUARD's cIPro solutions for its managed VPN offering and provides its customers with bulletproof security for the transmission of mission-critical information. FirstVPN chose RADGUARD for a number of reasons, including the high-performance and tamper-proof architecture of its products and proven interoperability, the company's commitment to standards and its long list of customers and projects. In addition, FirstVPN appreciates the ease of installation, configuration and management of the RADGUARD solution.
With the power of a secure VPN, FirstVPN's customers use the Internet for a simple and cost-effective solution to connect branch offices, remote sites, telecommuters and traveling employees. The managed VPN solution replaces costly legacy remote access systems and outsources the administration of the secure connectivity, thus reducing communication costs and speeding return on investment.
"Secure data and voice communications for our clients is our core business," said Mike Huang, President and CTO of FirstVPN. "The RADGUARD solution allows our customers to connect securely to corporate resources over the Internet. It eliminates the costs associated with modem pooling and provides fast, secure communications. In addition, the hardware token further assures our clients that the solution is tamper-proof and makes management much simpler. We simply send out a chip to change configurations, rather than having to invest the time and money involved in sending an engineer to do the reconfiguration," said Huang.

RADGUARD helps service providers expand and enhance service offering

RADGUARD's current product offerings and future product directions are focused on meeting the unique needs of service providers. By working with RADGUARD, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Application Service Providers (ASPs) are able to quickly and cost-effectively establish secure connectivity for their customers, allowing them to expand on their current product offering. RADGUARD's cIPro product line enables the secure internetworking necessary to link mobile workers, branch offices, remote locations, telecommuters, business partners, and suppliers to IP-enabled, mission-critical applications.
"The managed VPN market is set to explode," said Patrick McHugh, President of RADGUARD, Inc. "FirstVPN is ahead of the competition, delivering services organizations need to stay ahead in today's competitive marketplace, and we're happy to be working with such an innovative and leading-edge service provider."
