    ROCKLEIGH, N.J., Sept. 8 Ms. Juanita R. Mitchell has been
appointed Vice President, Human Resources for Volvo Cars of North America,
Inc. (VCNA), effective immediately.

    Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Support, Ms. Mitchell
will be responsible the formulation and implementation of Human Resource
programs, strategies and policies.  These include recruitment, employee
relations, diversity, organizational development, training, compensation,
benefits facilities and services.
    Since joining Volvo in 1980, Ms. Mitchell has held a variety of management
positions, most recently as Manager, Market Development and prior to that
Manager, Human Resources for the company's Northeast region.  Ms. Mitchell has
also held management positions in Customer Support, Customer Service and
Consumer Affairs within Volvo.
    Prior to joining Volvo Ms. Mitchell served as a District Parts and Service
Manager for the Chrysler Corporation in the New York Metropolitan area, as a
Litigation Analysis Specialist for IBM in White Plains, N.Y., and as an
educator.
    A native of Louisa, Virginia, Ms. Mitchell holds a Masters of Science in
Education from the State University of New York and a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Sociology from Virginia State University.  She is a member of several
professional organizations including the Forum for Executive Women, The
American Management Association, The Society of Consumer Affairs
Professionals, Women Unlimited Inc., and The Society for Human Resource
Management.
