Roll Coater, Inc. Announces General Price AdjustmentINDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 7 Roll Coater, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ArvinMeritor, announced today that it will issue a general price increase of approximately 6 percent per item to its customer base that will take effect Jan. 1, 2001. Roll Coater president Donald Ebert commented that, "Roll Coater has not issued a general price adjustment in the past six years. In that time, Roll Coater has absorbed operating expense increases in areas such as labor, natural gas, paint, utilities and government, as well as absorbed and self- imposed environmental compliance measures, without transferring any of the burden to our customer base. Moreover, many paint companies have recently requested price increases of their own, and the cost of natural gas has dramatically increased in recent months." Ebert continued, "Our employees have made every effort to improve our manufacturing and administrative processes, so that external price pressures could be absorbed without creating the need for adjustments. However, after a period, it becomes necessary to request price adjustments, so that we can afford to improve our processes and services, which, in turn, provide the level of satisfaction that our customers demand. Over time, we believe that our customer base will receive more value through our increased ability to continuously improve as a result of this price adjustment."
